Just For the Record...

Asheville, NC, USA

Hello all! It's been so long! So much has changed since I last blogged but I'm hoping I can get back into the swing of things.

I met up with Alina Kolberg this past weekend in Asheville and did a cute record store shoot at Harvest Records. This was my second time shooting with her–the first when we were still sort of learning the ropes of photography and it was pleasant to see how much we've improved. If you're in the Asheville area, give Alina a follow on Instagram or look at her website.

When Alina mentioned she wanted to do a shoot in a record store, the first thought that came into my mind was Wes Anderson. I recently got this thick sweater dress from Lulu's and knew I wanted to feature it in this styled shoot.

Notice anything else that's different?

That's right, I got Rapunzel hair! It has been about four years since I cut off my long locks and devoted myself to the short hair life. Don't get me wrong, I still love my short hair but there were days where I missed having long, boho hair. I invested in hair extensions from Barefoot Blonde Hair and the quality is superb. I got the color Melt Down and it's a gorgeous shade of brown with golden ends. If you're on the fence of extensions, BFBH offers try on kits so you can color match your own hair with the extensions! I am a bit sad about saying bye to my fun, colored hair but let's be honest, it was looking a bit rough. I had my hair cut, colored, and styled by H'Alina from Sixpence Salon. Check out her Instagram for all her hair magic. I've been going to her since she was still in school; I trust her with all my hair needs and she delivers.

I styled the sweater dress with a mock neck sweater with bell sleeves. I found this little number at TJ Maxx and it's my new favorite sweater. It can be dressed up or down. I have my grey booties on which you all have seen multiple times, my Warby Parker frames, and a simple black beret.

We then went down the street to Flora, a coffee shop and floral shop hybrid. It's absolutely stunning inside! We knew we wanted some shots there too.
